Wrap Up 2016 with Oregon’s Annual Winter Whale Watching Week

Whale watching

The week of December 27th through December 31st is very special here on the Oregon Coast.

It’s Oregon Parks and Recreation Department’s Winter Whale Watch Week, one of the peak gray whale migration weeks of the year! An estimated 20,000 gray whales (that’s 30 whales per hour!) will migrate past the Oregon coast during their annual southbound migration.

Expert volunteers from the Whale Watching Spoken Here® program will be stationed at Shore Acres State Park and many other locations on the Oregon Coast during this special week to help curious whale watchers to spot the migrating whales and learn more about them. Don’t miss this magical opportunity! Click here to learn more.

Have you Seen the 2016 Shore Acres Holiday Lights Display?

No? You better hurry, or you’ll have to wait until Thanksgiving 2017 to see them again! The 2016 Holiday Lights Display will continue to light up our coast through December 31st, 2016.
